Although I never update, this is probably the easiest way to tell people who speak to me online often that I'll be away from the internet for the best part of this week. Until I get something a little closer to home I'm having to stay with some rather generous friends whilst I work the job I'm just starting today. They hath no interwebs, so apart from weekends back here, I'll be offline until I get a job closer.
Hopefully SEGA want me ^_^
I thought I should remind everyone of the good old days, where dubbing was uhh... questionable. Saiyans are apparently professional whistlers.
And yeah, I should update properly one day.
Was good to watch, even though it swung Obamas way so quickly. Watching McCain congratulate him now in his stepdown speech I can only think 2 things. Firstly, why the hell don't British candidates for Prime Minister talk anything
like that at all? Secondly... damn he sounds like Dr Evil.
Now for bed.

My laptop charger has finally given up the ghost! It was working fine, and then a piece of wire fell off and I've been unable to locate it. now I can't charge my laptop till I find somewhere that does on of these fucking rare as shit chargers, so if you want me you'll have to text me or contact me by phone for a while!
Oh shit, Spore is corrupting childrens miiiiiiinds!Yesterday I found out about a new game called Spore when my son asked me to buy it for him. It looked innocent enough at first and has “E for Everyone” ESRB rating. But don’t be mislead, apparently “everyone” means everyone they want to teach evolution to.
This entire game is propaganda aimed directly at our children to teach them evolution instead of creationism, or “intelligent design” if you go for stupid PC terms.
The object of the game is to evolve from a “spore” into demon-like intelligent space creatures that violently take over the galaxy.
Ahh maniacal christians...
That's right! A lot of you who haven't spoken to me in a little while might not know, but I'm moving out tomorrow! Moving in with the wonderful Kazz and looking damn forward to it. It's not that I don't like my curent housemates... I just never see them, and they get on my nerves ;)
So 90% of my stuff is in boxes. Again. And I seem to have much more of it than last time... I'm gonna have to being culling stuff I own. There's lots I've seen already that I want to throw out but I'm gonna wait till I move so I can just leave it boxed!
Sigh... so boring to pack though. Gonna go to Scott and Sams pub tonight for the Karaoke and to say goodbye to the guys! Gonna be strange not living near a load of my friends anymore. And also strange not to have a local DDR machine :o
So... Karaoke. Wish me luck, I'll tell you all how it went when I've settled!
Well, as a hardcore Nintedo Gamer, and longtime fanboy I must say their press conference was pretty damn disappointing in terms of stuff for the hardcore gamer. But along those same lines, who expected Nintendo to focus a huge amount of their efforts on the hardcore gamer when the Wii was released? It's a gimmicky console from the word go, and the controller is basically made for party games (imagine going through Final Fantasy 7 and having to swing the Wiimote around like a loon for 50 hours of gameplay!).
Still, there were some highlights to the rather bland set.
- Animal Crossing Wii
- WiiSpeak (Microphone for the Wii, as if you couldn't guess!)
- GTA ChinaTown for the DS
- True control for the wiimote via a new addon that actually gives the user 1:1 control.
- COD:WAW. Online multiplayer? :3
- "The Reginator!"
... Yeah. Talking about sales, and how you've netting a huge casual market for your console unfortunately seems to leave little time for big announcements. No new changes to the Wii Home, no HDD addon or other solution to the storage problem, no news on new Zelda/Kid Icarus/Mario, hell not even anything on new channels or innovative uses for Miis. The list is quite large, and although E3 isn't over yet, you'd have thought that if they'd have had anything big they'd have shown it in their main goddamn conference. Imagine if Microsoft hadn't mentioned the fact their getting FFXIII in the conference yesterday, and instead tacked it on at the end of a later panel tomorrow.
And also, whilst I'm annoyed at them I'll say that although yeah I'm glad we have Wii speak and proper motion control, WHY WAS IT NOT THERE AT RELEASE! Comon, making a microphone a big part of your main E3 conference speech? Really Nintendo? Is this the kind of innovation I've followed you for 13 years for?
Other than Wii Sports Resort, a huge part of their focus was on Wii Music. Being a music game faggot I'm possibly giving a slightly jaded opinion here, but when I could go and buy Rock Band and have a full drumkit, microphone, and 2 Guitar controllers which I can use to play literally hundreds of popular musical tracks from the last 30 years... Why would I buy a game which involves holding the wiimote in vaguely instrument shaped ways and pressing buttons when and as you wish?
GODDAMN YOU NINTENDO! I'm glad I have a 360 as well as my Wii :( -pets the poor neglected console-
So, at this moment in time I'm sitting here during a quiet period at work and writing a goddamn LJ post :o What a change! A lot has happened since my last one... so let's keep everyone up to date :)
- I gots a new job! Betfred decided to close the good ol' Southsea branch, and as such I was forced to look for another job. A week out of work, and Scott said he needed someone behind the bar at his pub. RESULT! So, now I'm working at The Mermaid Pub, New Road, Portsmouth. Anyone in the area should come around for a drink once in a while and say hi. We're friendly, and alcoholic! :D
- I'm no longer a single man. Most people already know this so I don't need to say too much, but I'm now going out with the rather awesomeo Kazz! Things are going well with us which brings me to my next point...
- I'll be moving away from Portsmouth around September! Moving in with Kazz, infact! Will make me more central to all the people I know, and will put me in an area where I'm more likely to find the kind of work I'd like. Although it does mean I'd move away from all the awesome people in Portsmouth... Still, I'd come visit :3
Yup. All that time and those are the 3 main things XD Well, that's kind of a lie. There's also been events such as the London Expo, Walk the Wight (that was epic! I raised just over £100 and couldn't walk for 2 days after! Now I just need to collect the monies >_>), and the upcoming DDR Tournaments, but not as many people are interested in those I'm sure.
Also, now that I've finished at Betfred I'm not working nearly as many hours as I used to be, and they're a lot later too. So I have a lot more time... Friends who I've not really seen a whole lot and really should have (you know who you are! :p)... I have free tiem nao :o
- Location:The Mermaid
- Music:Red Hot Chili Peppers - Can't Stop
'tis that time of year again! The Isle of Wight yearly charity walk happens, and thousands of people travel from Bembridge to Alum Bay for charity!Walk the Wight website, see what it's all about!
But yeah. The charity is The Earl Mountbatten Hospice.
I'll be doing the walk this year (although I'll be running it, because I'm of course oh so fit!), and was wondering if anyone would like to sponsor me? 26.5 miles of running, hopefully on a hot day, and I have an official sponsorship form and everything! Doesn't have to be much, but anything is appreciated ^_^ (I'm asking here on Livejournal because I don't see a lot of my friends in real life all too often due to distance, and I only got it through a while ago!)
So yeah! If you fancy throwing a few quid towards me to pass onto this Isle of Wight based patient care charity, leave me a comment and I'll poke you by email or something :)
Plus y'know, Karma will love you :o
3 cans Relentless
2 cans Red Bull
1 Pack Pro Plus
1 2l Bottle of water
2 Tuna sandwiches
2 packs Lucazade tablets
Box of Haribo Giant strawbs
9 hours till work. Let's go GTAIV, see what you've got!
Why not... after all, it's been a while :o
Well, main news to note is I rekon I should be looking for a new job! I'm totally used to working 55 hours a week in my current shop and raking in about £1100 a month after tax, and why not? It's awesome! Seems that the lease on our shop expires on June 1st though, and won't be renewed! Now whilst I won't be put out of a job because of it, there's not enough spaces in the local Betfred shops to accomodate the 3 of us that will be losing out current shop and keep decent hours for everyone. I'll almost certainly be dropping to a paultry 27 hour week, at a lower rate of pay than usual. I figure each month pre-tax will then net me just over £700, which when my monthly rent is £400, ain't good! So the job hunt begins again. Yays!
On another recent note, GTAIV is released today! Never have I been more excited at the prospect of stealing cars and banging hookers! ...Well, that could be a lie. But either way, midnight launch = all night gaming? I think so! Night night all, I'm off for 4 hours sleep :o
Shall try and update when I have t3h game though!
GAINAX's house has the most epic entertainment setup ever. When you're watching a film and the 7.1 surround sound simulates and earthquake every time someone fires a shotgun you know you're watching it how it was intended!
Ah Payday.... is there any other greater day in the month? Didn't get paid as much as I thought I would (damn you tax!), but my next payday falls on minami friday. And Between January 25th and February 18th (24 days) I'm working 21 of them! I think I'm gonna be hitting the dealers room pretty hard this year! Probably still not the bar though as it's just not value for money :( *plans to buy skittles in a bit... lots of skittles...* MOSEY!
Giveth me some bank account details and you will get Minamicon room money gets! Any confirmingation from Paal yet? Orgies always need to stick to the formula M = F+1 to work perfectly!
And Mike, how are you getting to 'nami? I'll be taking the train from here I rekons, since it drops you out just behind the hotel (and I won't need to take the hand-destroying walk from the ferry like you did last time ;p). You're free to come and stay the night before and come with, or even a few nights before. I have the whole week off!Attention all UK DDR Players!
DDR:UK Championship information is up on DDR:UK
as of the other day. That's updated rules, seeding song to be used, and locations and dates of the qualifiers! The actual venues will be announced in a few more days, I'm just sorting those out at the moment. Any questions about it can be asked here, or more ideally on the forums :)
On a somewhat DDR related subject, ATEI was on the other week and I attended that with the other DDR:UK staffages. For those of you not in the know, ATEI is one of the worlds largest and most popular trade shows for arcades. Held in Earls Court over 3 days, the place was packed to bursting full of new games, pushers, and redemption machines on the top floor, and a few casinos worth of gambling machines (touchscreen terminals, video slots, normal slots, roulette, cards, etc etc) on the bottom floor.( A bit about ATEI, and the music games that were on show there. With pictures!Collapse )
Wow.... long entry. And now I'm hungry, so mI'll say this is the end! ...for now! *cackle*
